Sustainability

PAS is Sustainable:

PAS is fully committed to sustainability in many ways.

  1. Own Energy: By using around 50 photovoltaic panels on our roof, we generate most of our own electricity. This is used not only to power our laundry operations but also for other parts of the business, including charging our cars.

  2. Our own laundry carries the state-certified "Green Button" label, which guarantees that the textiles are produced under fair and environmentally friendly conditions.

  3. Renting bicycles and e-scooters allows our customers to forgo cars and explore the island in an eco-friendly way. Since Poel is small, you don’t need a car if you use a bicycle or e-scooter.

  4. Additionally, we offer our rental customers regional food packages that feature local and partly organic products.

  5. In our stores, we mainly offer reusable shopping bags and, with our PAS collection, we have textile shopping bags and backpacks available. We also sell regional products such as meats and sea buckthorn products, which have extremely short supply chains to us.

  6. Another key focus is involving the local population, as 80% of our employees are from the island. They use bicycles or walk to work.

All of the above measures contribute to PAS making a positive impact on sustainability and being an environmentally conscious company. We are continuously working on implementing more sustainable practices at PAS.
